RM35mil school aid distributed to 233,860 students in Pahang

KUANTAN: Pahang has received a total of RM35.079 million in School Assistance, which will be distributed in stages to 739 schools, benefiting 233,860 students in the state.

As reported by Pahang Media, the state's executive councillor for Agriculture, Basic Industry, Biotechnology, and Education, Datuk Seri Mohd Soffi Abdul Razak said each student would receive aid of RM150 without any deductions.

"I would like to express my gratitude to the federal government through the Education Ministry for their concern and efforts in supporting the educational needs of our children, regardless of their background.

"This demonstrates the commitment of both the federal and state governments to empower education, always placing it as a priority," he said during the aid handover ceremony 2024 at the Pahang state education department.

Additionally, Mohd Soffi hopes that the aid will alleviate the financial burden of parents in preparing for their children's schooling.

"The state government also provides RM100 in school aid for the same purpose, and this initiative will continue every year as part of our ongoing education agenda in the state.

"The Pahang government will continue to focus on education, including providing excellence incentives to form five and form six students, as encouragement for them to achieve outstanding academic results," he added.
