1,100 Kuala Rajang students receive school aid

BELAWAI: A total of 1,100 students within the Kuala Rajang state legislative assembly area have received aid in the form of school supplies, the Sarawak Public Communications Unit reported.

Urban Development and Resources Deputy Minister Datuk Len Talif Salleh said this annual initiative by the Sarawak United National Youth Organization (SABERKAS) Kuala Rajang aims to support students in their school preparations.

"This aid is intended to assist and alleviate the financial burden on parents," he said during the 'Back To School' N.41 Kuala Rajang Programme at the Kampung Belawai Community Hall on Sunday.

The Len Talif hoped the distributed aid would be utilised effectively and help parents in purchasing their children's school necessities.

The Back To School (BTS) programme is organised by SABERKAS Kuala Rajang Branch in collaboration with the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) N.41 Kuala Rajang, involving seven schools within the Tanjung Manis Zone.

Len Talif also visited a Free Haircut Programme conducted at the Belawai Food Court, a part of the BTS initiative. 21 barbers and 11 volunteers participated in the Free Haircut Programme, which also took place at various locations within the Kuala Rajang area, benefitting approximately 500 schoolchildren.
