KOTA BARU: Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) today contributed RM14,250 to the Media Prima Palestinian Humanitarian Fund.
Kelantan AIM Region general manager Mohd Abu Samah Mohd Daud handed over a mock cheque for the amount to Kelantan MPB representative Shahnun Hanif Abdullah Suhaimi at a hotel here today.
Mohd Abu Samah said the donation was collected among its 225 staff and entrepreneur friends in a two-month donation drive.
He added the donation drive began in October and ended in December last year.
"We also organised sales of Palestine mafla in efforts to collect the money to help Palestinians," he added.
Meanwhile, Media Prima Bhd Group corporate communications general manager Azlan Abdul Aziz said the company through its Palestinian Humanitarian Fund is always committed in helping the Palestinian people and other victims who were affected by the Israeli attacks in Gaza.
"This was made in collaboration with agencies and non-governmental organisations that have extensive experiences and have the expertise to carry out missions in the region.
"So far, MPB has distributed about RM1.9 million to Palestine from public donations and will continue such initiatives through collaborations with our non-governmental organisations partners such as the Malaysian Medical Relief Society (Mercy Malaysia), Humanitarian Care Malaysia (MyCare) and Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA)."
Azlan then thanked the Kelantan AIM and other donors for the donations to the fund.
