KUALA LUMPUR: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia's inaugural royal address in Parliament is filled with advice and reminders for all lawmakers, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
In a Facebook post, Zahid pledged that he, alongside the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and other government members of Parliament, would participate in the debate on the royal address and give their utmost commitment to the Dewan Rakyat sitting.
"InsyaAllah, I am ready, along with the Prime Minister and the entire government MPs, fully prepared to participate in the debate on the royal address starting tomorrow and will dedicate ourselves wholeheartedly to this Parliamentary session.
"His Majesty's address was filled with messages for all MPs to observe, scrutinise and use as guidance," he said.
Earlier today, the King, in his 28-minute long speech had stressed on several key points, notably the conduct and responsibilities of parliamentarians.
