Govt backbencher to police: Make it easier for people to express their solidarity for the Palestinians [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: A government backbencher has called on the police to make it easier for the people in the country to organise peaceful assemblies in expressing their solidarity for the people of Palestine.

Hassan Abdul Karim (Pakatan Harapan - Pasir Gudang) said the police should not make it difficult for organisers of pro-Palestine peaceful assembly to proceed with organising the event.

"I wanted to ask PDRM (the police) to make it easier for the people in the country to express their solidarity for the people of Palestine.

"Do not make it difficult for the organisers to do so," said Hassan when debating the Royal Address in the Dewan Rakyat here today.

He added that there would be a mega gathering this Saturday in the city involving pro-Palestine non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to demand for a ceasefire in Gaza as well as an end to the genocide against the Palestinians.

"I would like to praise Malaysians for their continuous support and involvement in expressing the solidarity of the people of Palestine," he said.
