KUALA LUMPUR: The Defence Ministry and the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) organised the 2023 Outstanding Service Award (APC) and Distinguished Service and Character Medal (PPT) at Grand Ballroom Premiera Hotel, Kuala Lumpur today.

A total of 863 civil servants, 9,420 ATM officers from all three service branches, and 153 retirees were acknowledged, bringing the total number of recipients to 10,436.

The event was officiated by Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin here.

"The APC recipient was given an Outstanding Service Certificate and a cash performance prize worth RM1,000.

"While for retirees who retired both mandatory and optional, each received a Certificate of Appreciation as well as cash amounting to RM600.

"Only compulsory retirees receive additional awards in the form of PPT medals," the statement said.

Khaled also granted the Distinguished Service Medal (PPC) to the only recipient from the Royal Military Academy.

He is the only recipient for the category this year as the nomination criteria require selected officials to be recognised as active and skilled in various fields.
