10,413 police officers, personnel receive excellent service awards

KUALA LUMPUR: 10,413 police officers and personnel nationwide have been awarded this year's Excellent Service Awards (APC) as a recognition of their excellent performance.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the total recipients comprise 1,068 senior police officers, 8,376 junior police officers, and civil servants.

He said the APC is a government recognition bestowed upon the policemen who have demonstrated outstanding and high-quality service based on their annual performance.

"Today, we will celebrate the 42 police members who will receive the award certificates for the assessment year 2023 shortly.

"The certificate presentation ceremony for other recipients will take place at the department, contingent, and formation levels," he said in a speech at the award ceremony held at Bukit Aman police headquarters.

Also present were Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin and National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) chief executive Ahmad Dasuki Abdul Majid.

Razarudin said the APC could also act as a crucial criterion in human resource management, particularly in career advancement besides recognising the excellent service of the awardees.

"Furthermore, the APC serves as a foundation for promotion and opportunities to participate in courses, whether domestic or international.

"Therefore, my sincere hope is that this recognition serves as a motivation for the recipients and other members of the force to continue providing the best service to the community."

Among the APM recipients were Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid, Kelantan police chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun and Bukit Aman Special Branch E1 deputy director Datuk Samsuddin Basir.

Meanwhile, Dasuki also presented a Sahabat PTPTN mock cheque worth RM67,194 to Razarudin for the police welfare fund.

"The funds distributed represent returns received by the police throughout 2023, resulting from various services offered by PTPTN to the members of the force," Razarudin said.

PTPTN also sponsored lucky draw prizes worth RM10,000 in the form of National Education Savings Scheme (SSPN) Certificates to the police force.
