PM says inclusivity for women vital to ensure sustainable community development

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that inclusivity for women is important to ensure sustainable community development.

In connection with the International Women's Day celebration, Anwar in a Facebook posting said women play a huge role in building civilisations and societies.

He said the government remains firm and consistent in advocating for women's rights and ensuring that policies are established to strengthen every aspect of women's rights.

Earlier, the prime minister also urged leaders and the general populace to play their part as a collective in elevating the country to greater heights.

He said bold reforms must be supported across levels of society and focused on raising the dignity and status of Malaysia.

He said the country must strive for excellence so that future generations will inherit the responsibilities with pride.

"Therefore, Malaysia needs to bravely enact change not only at the ministerial and political levels but also among its entire populace," said Anwar in a Facebook post.

Anwar added that irrespective of creed or colour, Malaysians must understand their roles in taking the country to greater heights.
