Bersatu's constitution amendment: Muhyiddin arrives at RoS

PUTRAJAYA:  Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has arrived at the Registrar of Societies (RoS) office here together with the party's top leadership.

According to a Malay daily, Muhyiddin was accompanied by party secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin; Federal Territory information chief Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz and its Sabah chief Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee.

This is following the decision to amend the party's constitution aimed at preventing members from switching sides.

Previously, six Perikatan Nasional MPs and one assemblyman pledged their support to the current government.

The six MPs who have switched allegiance are Datuk Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal (Bukit Gantang), Mohd Azizi Abu Naim (Gua Musang), Datuk Dr Zulkafperi Hanapi (Tanjong Karang), Zahari Kechik (Jeli), Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (Kuala Kangsar) and Datuk Dr Suhaili Abdul Rahman (Labuan).

The assemblyman was Selat Klang assemblyman Datuk Abdul Rashid Asari, the former Selangor Bersatu chief who announced his support for Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari earlier last week.
