KUCHING: The Sarawak Boys' Team clinched the championship title at the Persatuan Golf Amatur Bumiputera Sarawak (PGABS) Inter-State Youth Golf Championship held at the Sarawak Golf Club on March 7, the Sarawak Public Communications Unit reported.
This victory saw the triumphant team taking home RM6,000 in cash prizes, along with a trophy and medals, underscoring their dominance in this prestigious event.
The runner-up position was secured by the Perak team, who won RM3,000 and medals for their performance.
The Perlis Team rounded off the podium, claiming third place and a cash prize of RM1,500, along with their medals.
In the women's category, the Perak team emerged victorious, echoing the success of their male counterparts by also securing a RM6,000 cash prize, a trophy, and medals.
The Terengganu team took the second spot, receiving RM3,000 and medals, while the Perlis team once again finished in third place, taking home RM1,500 and medals.
The individual categories saw standout performances, with Anson Yeo Boon Song from Sarawak winning the men's category and Wong Xin Yao from Perak taking the top spot in the women's category. Both champions were awarded RM3,000, a trophy, and medals for their exceptional prowess on the golf course.
