JOHOR BARU: A pregnant cashier suffered injuries to her face after she was punched by a woman customer at a supermarket in Southkey here yesterday.
A viral video of the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage showed the woman customer punching the cashier's face after taking a receipt from the victim.
According to the victim's Facebook account under the name Zuriani Mahmood, 25, the incident took place at 3.17pm when the woman had made a payment but wanted to return the items she purchased.
"I asked her to wait because the purchase had already been keyed into the system. However, the woman suddenly became angry, and after making the payment, she punched my face," said the victim.
The cashier suffered "swelling under the left eye", as stated in her police report shared on Facebook.
Zuriani lodged a report on the incident at the Majidee police station here on the same day the incident took place.
Johor Baru (south) police chief Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat, when contacted, said that the incident is currently being reviewed.
