Boy, 10, hurt after being hit by car trying to overtake school bus

KUALA LUMPUR: A 10-year-old pupil suffered injuries to his right leg when he was struck by a car at Jalan Sungai Kandis, Shah Alam, near her today.

Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the incident occurred when the boy attempted to cross the road after disembarking from a school bus at 1.50pm.

"The accident occurred when a 40-year-old car driver attempted to overtake a school bus."

"Subsequently, a student alighted from the bus and crossed the road in front of it, resulting in a collision with the left front door of the car," he said.

The boy has been sent to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Klang Hospital.

Police are urging anyone with information on the accident to come forward and assist with the investigation.
