KOTA BARU: Police today arrested a 'Datuk' who was on their wanted list for several cases including voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation.
Kelantan police chief, Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun said the 56-year-old suspect was nabbed at about 7am this morning.
He said the suspect will be remanded for two days beginning today to assist police investigation into the case.
The remand order which ends tomorrow was obtained at Magistrate court here this morning under Section 117 of Criminal Procedure Code.
Police are investigating the case under Section 323 and 506 of Penal Code.
It is learnt that the suspect, who is a former non-governmental organisation (NGO) leader with the title 'Datuk' was arrested in Binjai area.
He was among four suspects wanted by the state police for various crimes.
