DiVA programme to help grow Sarawak's digital ecosystem

KUCHING: The Digital Village Accelerator (DiVA) programme has emerged as a vital platform contributing to the growth of the state's digital and innovation ecosystem, the Sarawak Public Communications Unit reported.

This initiative, spearheaded by Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC), is designed to support entrepreneurs and tech startups by providing essential resources to foster their innovative capacities.

SDEC chief executive officer Sudarnoto Osman expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with talented startup companies that have applied for the DiVA programme.

"Our goal is to furnish the right platform, resources and guidance to shape their ideas into innovative solutions that will contribute to Sarawak's digital and innovation ecosystem," he said.

The announcement highlighted the official launch of DiVA's Cohort 3 last week, with participation of over 190 entries from startup companies.

Six Sarawakian startups have been selected to join Cohort 3 of DiVA, including MyScripts, Fly Technology Agriculture, Nebula, Beli Beli SuperApp, Satok Bridge and Formeta PLT.

Participants in this programme, jointly organised with NEXEA, will engage in specialised mentoring, benefit from industry-specific guidance and access a range of support to steer their startups towards success.

Selected participants may also be eligible for an SDEC grant of up to RM150,000 and investments up to RM250,000.

Furthermore, participants will have the opportunity to interact with a lineup of investment mentors, including James Graham, Alan Lim, Jonah Lau and Datuk Patrick Liew.

Ben Lim, NEXEA chief executive officer, remarked on the unique stories and passionate desires of each applicant in DiVA Cohort 3 to effect change.

"We are here to empower them and together, we will witness a collective spark of innovation that will illuminate Sarawak's digital future," he said.
