KULIM: A 25 year old factory worker broke his leg and shoulder after falling into a tank 12 ft deep (3.65m) near the factory premises in Kulim Hi Tech Park yesterday evening.
Kulim Hi Tech Fire and Rescue Station chief Azmir Hassan said the department received distress calls regarding the incident at 8.58 pm before dispatching a team to the scene.
"Upon arrival, it was found that the 25-year-old worker, a Bangladeshi national, was still inside the tank, believed to have fallen.
"The victim suffered leg and shoulder injuries. The firefighters administered initial treatment before extracting him from the tank using a rope and a stretcher," he said in a statement yesterday.
The victim was then transported to Kulim Hospital, and operations concluded at 10.21pm.
