RM10 mil airfare allocation for Sabah students in Peninsula, Sarawak and Labuan

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has declared an allocation of RM10 million to subsidise airfare for all Sabah students pursuing higher education in public or private institutions (IPT) across Peninsular Malaysia, Sarawak, and Labuan, I Love Borneo reported.

This initiative will grant a one-time subsidy of RM600 per student to assist with flight costs.

"This special one-time airfare subsidy of RM600 will be directly provided to the students involved. Detailed information and payment mechanisms will be further discussed by the relevant parties. This subsidy can be used at any time for returning to Sabah," he said during a breakfast event with students in Penang.

The funds for this subsidy come from a special allocation by the Chief Minister to support Sabah students studying away from their home state, aiding them in managing the financial challenges associated with travel for educational purposes.
