PASIR MAS: A lorry driver miraculously escaped unhurt when his vehicle crashed into a tree at Simpang Tiga Gelang Mas here today.
The victim, in his 30s, was travelling from Bukit Lata, Rantau Panjang to Tumpat when the crash occured at noon.
The driver said he was on his way to deliver tonnes of earth when the incident happened.
"A motorist who was travelling in front of me, suddenly made a right turn.
"l could not stop my vehicle on time but to avoid ramming him, l had to turn the steering wheel to the right side.
"I then crashed into a tree. Despite the heavy impact, I am lucky that l escaped unhurt."
However, the gates of a house were damaged in the incident.
The house owner and his family were resting when the crash occurred.
