Sabah boosts STEM education with RM60,000 funding

The funds, allocated by the Sabah Science, Technology, and Innovation Ministry, were distributed to the Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, Papar, and Tuaran district education offices.

Sabah's State Education Department director Datuk Raisin Saidin said that the financial support is aimed at conducting this year's STEM Festival.

He said the festival's activities are designed to offer students a more engaging and effective exposure to STEM fields, fostering a generation of creative, innovative, and competitive youths.

"This initiative aligns with the department's goals and the Sabah government's aspiration under the Sabah Maju Jaya initiative to attract more students to STEM subjects.

"Last year, we achieved a 28.78 per cent participation rate in STEM, and we aim to increase that figure to 35 per cent this year," Raisin said after witnessing the fund disbursement ceremony.
