Wee: MCA to continue playing role of check and balance to govt

KUALA LUMPUR: MCA will continue to carry out its responsibilities and play its role to provide check and balance in the government.

In saying this, party president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said the party would support whatever decision was beneficial to the people.

He said he had met with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for an hour at the latter's office in Putrajaya today where he had conveyed some of the people's current sentiments and shared MCA's views regarding the economy, interracial relationship, cost of living and other public policies that "require serious attention" by the government.

"Thank you YAB PMX for always listening to the views presented for the good of the people and the country," he said in a Facebook posting.

However, he did not elaborate on what issues he had brought up.

"Other than that, I also raised several issues related to my constituency in Ayer Hitam such as the infrastructure development and the upgrade of Yong Peng District Council to a city council, the construction of Yong Peng wet market and the development of Yong Peng High School."
