3 men to provide statements to police over bag found with RM500,000

KUALA LUMPUR: Three men will provide their statements to police over the luggage bag containing RM500,000 found at a mall parking lot on March 20.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the three were associated with the company director who had claimed ownership of the bag.

He said the three men had been called in to record their statements and act as witnesses.

"The three are associated with the timber company director who claimed ownership of the bag.

"They will appear before us, and their statements will be recorded at the Petaling Jaya police headquarters," he told BH today.

Last week, the New Straits Times reported that police would call three more witnesses to help in the investigation.

Previously, the director who had claimed the suitcase said he was unaware that the money taken from his friend's apartment unit above the shopping centre in Damansara was not put into his vehicle.

The man said the suitcase was taken from his friend's house, and the friend had wanted to return the money after borrowing it last year for investment purposes, he added.

On March 20, a guard found the bag at the mall's parking lot.

The bag was handed over to the police by the guard.
