Kg Jerijih set for major redevelopment with RM20 mil govt funding

JERIJIH: Kampung Jerijih is poised for significant development as the government channels RM20 million into the Village Expansion Scheme for the area, the Sarawak Public Communications Unit reported.

The long-awaited project will undergo a comprehensive review and enhancement, according to Sarawak Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh.

The facelift will include reconstruction of lot boundaries and installation of essential amenities such as roads, electricity and water supply. A total of 232 lots are slated for development, benefiting the residents who have been eagerly awaiting this initiative.

The announcement was made during the Riang Ria Aidilfitri celebration at the Kampung Jerijih Community Hall, with Tanjong Manis member of parliament Yusuf Abd Wahab in attendance.

Additionally, Len has committed to selecting a new location for the construction of the Kampung Jerijih New Hall, after the initial proposed site encountered approval roadblocks from the Sarawak Land and Survey Department.
