New Miri Hospital block set to elevate healthcare standards in Sarawak

MIRI: Miri Hospital is on track to expand its healthcare services with a new hospital block scheduled to be fully operational next year, the Sarawak Public Communications Unit reported.

Deputy Health Minister Datuk Lukanisman Awang Sauni said this expansion would enhance patient capacity and introduce advanced medical treatments to the region.

During a discussion at the Miri Melanau Association's Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri event held at Dewan Balau, Lukanisman outlined the strategic upgrades involving state-of-the-art medical equipment installations currently nearing completion.

"We are currently in a trial phase, ensuring that the transition to full operation is smooth, with phased staff deployment and logistics meticulously planned out to uphold our commitment to the highest standards of patient care," he said.

Lukanisman emphasised the importance of a cautious approach to launching the new facilities to ensure all systems are fully operational and staff are well-trained.

This strategy was crucial for conducting comprehensive tests and finalising setups to provide optimal healthcare services.
