There's nothing to worry about, says Perlis MB after giving MACC statement

PUTRAJAYA: Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli has completed giving his statement to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today.

In a Facebook post, Mohd Shukri affirmed his commitment to cooperate fully with all MACC inquiries.

"Alhamdulillah, I have provided my statement. It's crucial to seek out and share only authentic news. Let's not propagate fake news.

"As I've stressed before, I will continue to extend my full cooperation to the MACC throughout its investigations," he said.

"There is nothing to worry about. God willing. Thank you for your kind comments, praying that my affairs will be made easy," he said.

Earlier today, Mohd Shukri was summoned by the MACC to furnish his statement regarding his son's alleged involvement in a false claims issue.

The 63-year-old, who is also Perlis PAS Commissioner, was present at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya early this morning.

The MACC is probing into the alleged submission of false claims amounting to RM600,000, purportedly involving Mohd Shukri's son, regarding the supply of drinking water to the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail.

Based on a copy of a payment note, dated Feb 19, that went viral, the RM19,505 worth of drinking water claim was allegedly supplied to Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin. The ruler is receiving treatment at the Tuanku Fauziah Hospital here.

However, it was learnt that no such supply was delivered as claimed. The authenticity of the document could not be immediately verified.
