Probe on Menteri Besar: Perlis State Secretary declines comment, leaves investigation to MACC

KANGAR: The Perlis State Secretary office leaves the investigation into alleged false claims in the state in the hands of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

This is following a series of probes by the graft buster agency on alleged forged documents used to submit claims worth some RM600,000 and the latest involving Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli.

State Secretary Datuk Muhd Khair Razman Mohamed Annuar said it is not proper for him to comment further on the ongoing investigations.

"I think it is inappropriate for me to comment since the investigations are still ongoing, we are leaving it to the MACC.

"I can't comment, I am not privy to the information and I am sorry because the MACC never has an engagement with me, so I decline to comment, I am sorry," he said when contacted.

Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli is believed to have had his statement taken twice at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters here today.

Initially, Mohd Shukri attended to provide statements regarding investigations into a false claims case amounting to RM600,000, allegedly involving his son.

However, shortly after concluding this, he was alleged to have been called in again, this time in connection with a case of suspected power abuse.
