LARUT: Two teenagers suffered minor injuries after a tree, approximately two adult hug's width, fell onto their residence on Jalan Menteri, Selama, here, earlier this evening.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) spokesperson said that in the incident reported at 4:17pm, two siblings aged 15 and 13 were rushed to the Selama Hospital as a result of the incident.
"At the time of the incident, there was a storm followed by heavy rain, and it is understood that the tree, approximately two adult hug's width, fell and hit the house.
"Both victims, who were inside the house at the time, sustained injuries and were taken to the Selama Hospital for further treatment.
"The house, measuring 12 metres by 12m, suffered 50 per cent damage to the living room," he said in a statement.
He said that the fallen tree was immediately cut and removed to ensure no further risk to the occupants of the house.
He added that the operation concluded at 6:33pm.
