PUTRAJAYA: The New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd gave away 500 packs of 1kg rice to visitors on the second day of Karnival Jom Heboh (KJH), in Precint 3, here.
Visitors in the hundreds queued for the giveaway, which was presented by NSTP group managing editor Datuk Ahmad Zaini Kamaruzzaman.
"Our sponsors, Bernas (Padiberas Nasional Bhd) provided us with these 1kg packs of rice to give away. This is a gift for all KJH visitors who stop by the NSTP booth," he said.
The packs of rice were snatched up in mere minutes, along with 2,000 flavoured buns for children.
Earlier, Zaini launched the NSTP Dinoland booth, which will be open to the public at only RM20 per family throughout the weekend.
"Our sponsors from Julie's, Aiskrim Malaysia, and Yakult are selling their products at a great discount here at the NSTP booth.
"If visitors want to experience immersive glow-in-the dark Dinoland, they just need to pay RM20 per family, regardless of the number of people.
"With the entrance fee, they even get a copy of all our three publications, the New Straits Times (NST), Berita Harian (BH), and Harian Metro (HM), as well as goodies from our sponsors," he added.
Tonight and tomorrow night, visitors at KJH would be entertained by a host of artists and celebrities at the Konsert Jom Heboh, starting at 9pm.
Present were NST group editor Farrah Naz Karim, BH deputy group editor M Thillinadan, HM executive editor (Content) Muhamad Safar Ahmad.
Others present included Print Towers Sdn Bhd chief operating officer Luqman Adrienne, NSTP business operations, sales and marketing support general manager Aswan Abdul Kadir, finance general manager Fadzli Mustapha, and circulation general manager Prakash Munusamy.
Organised by Media Prima Bhd, KJH Putrajaya is open from 10am to midnight, offering various family activities and sales of food and other products.
Various activities are also held at the NSTP booth in KJH, including lucky draws and the distribution of goodie bags.
