Ministry improving internal processes after 4 Kada officers held in graft probe

KUALA LUMPUR: The Agriculture and Food Security Ministry said it is improving departmental and agency workflows after four Kemubu Agricultural Development Authority (Kada) officials were detained in a graft probe.

The ministry said it supported the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's investigation of the Kada officials and viewed the investigation seriously and was ready to cooperate to ensure a transparent investigation.

"At the same time, the ministry remains committed to anti-corruption efforts and prioritises a high level of integrity among its staff, and will not tolerate any corrupt practices or unethical conduct," it said.

Earlier today, MACC obtained fresh remand orders from the Kota Baru Sessions court on four Kada senior officers for allegedly making false claims and receiving bribes.

Among those remanded was a general manager.

The four were arrested by MACC separately on April 30 and last night.
