Please pray for me, pleads Faisal Halim

SHAH ALAM: "Please pray for me, and send my regards to my friends."

This was the plea of Selangor player, Faisal Halim to Selangor FA (FAS) deputy president, Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar.

Shahril, who is also the club's technical committee chairman, explained that he visited Faisal, 26, before the player underwent his second surgery on Tuesday afternoon.

"I visited Faisal. Alhamdulillah, he is conscious, but he is scheduled to undergo his second surgery around 5.30pm after the first surgery two days ago.

"So let's pray that the second surgery goes smoothly. When I met Faisal, he asked for prayers for a speedy recovery, and to send his regards to his friends.

"I believe he will undergo further surgeries. This takes time; I understand that Faisal will be in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) for at least 10 days," Shahril explained after visiting Faisal at a hospital here.

Faisal, who is also a key player for the national team, suffered injuries to his arm and body after being splashed with acid by an unknown assailant while at a mall in Kota Damansara on Sunday.

Earlier reports stated the attacker had used Sulfuric acid, resulting in Faisal suffering fourth-degree burns.

It is understood that almost his entire body is wrapped, with the most severe injuries sustained on his left arm.

"The doctor didn't specify the type of acid, but I was informed it was highly dangerous sulfuric acid. So let's pray for his speedy recovery," said Shahril.
