KKB by-election: 12 reports, two arrests made during election campaign, say police

KUALA LUMPUR: Police received 12 reports during the duration of the campaigning period for the Kuala Kubu Baharu elections.

From this, five investigation papers were launched and two arrests were made.

"During the campaign period from April 27 until May 11, Selangor police received 12 reports and five investigation papers were opened," said Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan in a statement.

Out of the 12 reports, seven cases involved preventative measures by the police in addition to cases which did not have any criminal elements.

Two arrests were made during the period, he added.

On May 5, it was reported that two men were arrested to assist police investigations into the use of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia's pictures on a four-wheel-drive vehicle during the campaigning for the Kuala Kubu Baharu state seat by-election.

"The Selangor police contingent expresses gratitude to all for their outstanding service in ensuring smooth, orderly, and good traffic safety," he added.
