#NSTviral: Teary-eyed former soldier shares his hardship with BN candidate [WATCH]

KEMAMAN: Barisan Nasional's Kemaman parliamentary seat by-election candidate Gen (Rtd) Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor was overcome by emotion when he met a retired soldier who spoke about his hardship.

Clad in his security guard uniform, the man was heard telling the former Armed Forces chief that he was a ex-soldier and does not even have a house.

Raja Mohamed Affandi was seen putting his arms over the guard's shoulder in the one minute 28 seconds Tik Tok video as the guard spoke emotionally about his plight.

"Do not sideline soldiers...I am a former soldier, I sacrificed my life, I am a former soldier," he said to Raja Mohamed who replied that he was also a former military man and the guard immediately nodded his head.

The man told Raja Mohamed Affandi that being a former soldier, he does not even have a house.

"Respect all the former soldiers. Being a former soldier myself, I do not even have a house," he said.

Raja Mohamed Affandi held the man's shoulder and asked if he trusted him (Raja Mohamed Affandi) and assured that he would perform his responsibilities.

"InsyaAllah' (God willing), I will fulfill my duties...during my service, I carried out my responsibilities.," he said as he patted the guard on the shoulder.

Before parting ways, Raja Mohamed Affandi and the guard exchanged salutes as they walked towards different directions.

The video has since gone viral, garnering over 10,800 views.

The Kemaman parliamentary seat by-election on Dec 2 is a straight fight between Raja Mohamed Affandi and Pas candidate Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, who is the Terengganu menteri besar.

The by-election was called following the decision of the Terengganu Election Court on Sept 26 to annul the victory of Pas candidate Che Alias Hamid in the 15th General Election.
