#NSTviral: Families, children enjoy winter wonderland displays in KL's city centre [Watch]

KUALA LUMPUR: Is it snowing in Malaysia? The question sparked varied responses from the public following the artificial snow shows around the iconic Petronas Twin Towers since Monday.

The display, lasting a brief 15 minutes for each session left a lasting impression to visitors and holidaymakers here. It added to the Christmas and New Year festivities.

Visitors eagerly seized the opportunity to capture their experience of white Christmas in the tropics through videos and photos.

A video of the Malaysian 'winter wonderland' was uploaded by TikTok user @hazmiftw and it garnered a whopping 1.4 million views.

Those who experienced the snow in the city centre shared their joy after taking in the breathtaking sight.

"It's snowing at KLCC," said one social media post.

Families with children, who were mesmerised with the snow enveloping the Petronas Twin Towers and its neighbouring buildings said it was a picturesque scene amidst the backdrop of Christmas trees and other decorations.

"Seems like people are experiencing snow or something similar to it in Malaysia now. Or am I mistaken?" said @Rien Azni.

Another social media user @Sarah Kim said: "So this is how KLCC looks like when it's snowing," On the X platform, a social media user said the artifical snow reminded him of his trips abroad.

"Heading back to KL... going to KLCC to see the snow. How I missed travelling to snowy areas. May I be blessed with abundant opportunities soon, Ameen," wrote @AbgManKB.

The artificial snow display is organised by Avenue K beginning Dec 20 and will end on Jan 1, 2024.

It is held from 7.45 pm to 8pm from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, weekends, and public holidays, the artificial snow will grace the scene twice from 7.45 pm to 8pm and again from 8.30pm to 8.45 pm.
