#NSTviral: No drive-thru, please: Car rams into popular nasi lemak stall in Sri Petaling [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: Patrons at a popular nasi lemak stall in Sri Petaling faced a life and death situation when a white Chery Omoda 5 rammed into it yesterday.

In a series of photos posted in the Sri Petaling Community Telegram group and later shared on Cari Makan Facebook, broken tables and chairs were seen strewn all over floor at the stall in Jalan Radin Anum 1 in the evening incident.

Half-eaten meals were left on the tables as patrons scrambled to safety.

The post, which went viral yesterday, attracted a number of comments on Facebook, many commented on the safety of dining in the outdoor seating.

Others took a jab at the new "drive thru" service at the stall.

"Sorry, no drive thru," read one comment by Harry Don, which was followed by another, who commented that the car owner probably wanted to "tapau" (takeaway) three packets of nasi lemak ikan masin, which the stall was famous for.

Another netizen, Dominic Yap commented that the car owner might have mistaken the stall as his private parking spot.

Meanwhile, Adeline Beh reminded people to be alert at all times when dining at an outdoor-setting eatery.

"Please be careful. You'll never know what will happen when you eat here," she wrote.

Others such as Li Li said that perhaps the car owner was not familiar with the car's driving system, particularly the electronic gear shifter.

The stall, which was a popular haunt among Malaysians, had been operating in the exact same spot since 1997.

Among its famous dishes are sambal sotong, sambal kerang and creamy chicken rendang.
