#NSTviral: Mum gives birth at KLIA Terminal 1 waiting area

KUALA LUMPUR: A woman recently gave birth at the waiting area of Terminal 1 of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang.

In a Facebook post, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) said the Aviation Security (Avsec) team and Customer Experience Management (CEM) personnel promptly aided the woman and contacted the Health Ministry as well as Medilife Paramedic staff for assistance.

"The baby was successfully delivered and rushed to Serdang Hospital with the mother for further treatment and monitoring."

MAHB in the post also expressed its appreciation to Avsec, CEM, the Terminal Services Department, the Health Ministry, Medilife Paramedics and others for their quick and efficient actions.

The comments section saw netizens not only congratulating the mother and baby but also Avsec for their assistance.

User Tok Gajah OwLaholic wrote: "Congratulations Avsec avengers. Malaysia Airports now has a grandchild."

Another user, Paul Diesel, wrote: "Congratulations to Malaysia Airports personnel, who were involved. Salute."

Meanwhile, Munira Maarof wrote: "Alhamdulillah and congratulations to the little one and family. Imagine the place of birth of this little one; Boarding Gate XXX, KLIA. If the JPA (the Civil Aviation Department) would allow it-la. Maybe they will since there is proof, through this post (on Facebook by MAHB on the birth)."
