#NSTviral: Tesla car crashes through brick wall in the middle of a road [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: A Tesla crashed through a brick wall, and the driver attributed it to the road being excessively dark, sparking discussions among netizens.

In a Facebook post by YC Shaun, he said many might wonder why there was a wall in the middle of the road in the first place.

"The wall has been there for almost 10 years. Initially, the other side was not developed, and residents built it for their own protection.

"If you live nearby, you will know that it makes perfect sense to have that wall.

"The bottom line is that it was updated in every version of an online map to be a dead end."

Contrary to the claim of darkness by the driver, pictures accompanying the post showed a well-lit road illuminated by street lamps.

The video also displayed significant damage to the Tesla's hood after crashing through the wall.

While some netizens accused the driver of being under the influence, others argued it was the Tesla system's problem for not stopping the car, given its reputation for having an automatic emergency braking system.

@Nelson Ong said: "Tesla is having a braking system problem and it could not even stop the car. Its anti-lock braking system does not function at all."

@Wilson Choo KW suggested: "Probably the programme never anticipated a wall built in the middle of the road. Still, it is dangerous, especially during a dark night when manually driving for anyone following Waze or Google Maps for the first time using this road."

@Andrew Chin commented: "Road is too dark to see? More likely driving under the influence."

@Benjamin Lai said: "No excuse to say the brick wall suddenly appeared as in Google picture, it showed that the road has been a dead end since four years ago."
