NewGen Party wants MACC to investigate Ezam

KUALA LUMPUR: The New Generation Party (NewGen Party) is calling for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate Datuk Mohamad Ezam Mohd Nor's source of income.

Its president Datuk G. Kumaar Aaman said the anti-graft agency should find out how could Ezam, as a former civil servant, afford to pay the bills for the party.

He said he was certain that there were "sponsors" funding the politician.

Kumaar also claimed that there were quarters conspiring with Ezam, and that they had been using "fake office address, forged signature and fake party members".

"How could he (Ezam), as a former civil servant, afford to pay for this and that.

"The MACC should look into his source of income, whether it comes from 'sponsors' or from bribes," said Kumaar in a statement.

NewGen Party was purportedly renamed by now suspended secretary-general S. Gobi Krishnan last month. He had announced that the party was now called Parti Bebas Rasuah (PBR).

Ezam, who was a former Umno, PKR and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia member was appointed as PBR president.

"I am the NewGen party president. I don't know where Ezam's dignity was when he disguised himself as the party president." added Kumaar.
