Penang Pas dismisses DAP as "irrelevant" to state, Penangites

KEPALA BATAS: The DAP is no longer relevant to Penangites, as it governs the state like a business entity, without taking into account the people’s interests, Penang Pas Commissioner Muhammad Fauzi Yusoff said today.

"(For instance), they increase the water surcharge without considering the impact that would have on the people," he said at the officiating of Pas’ election machineries in Kota Aur, Penaga, here today.

Muhammad Fauzi also said the DAP likes to claim that Penang’s water tariff is the cheapest in the country, but this is not attributable to efforts by the DAP leadership.

"The water tariff in Penang has always been low, even before DAP came into the picture," he said.

He also stressed that Penang Pas demands that DAP retract its circular in the Penang state government announcing its right to interfere with all Fatwa declarations before they are issued in the state.

"Barisan Nasional, Umno and Gerakan have never interfered with the Fatwa council, but DAP dares to do so," Muhammad Fauzi added.
