Opposition relocating voters to Johor to wrest state in GE14: DPM

JELEBU: The opposition has been detected systematically relocating voters to Johor in an effort to secure several Parliamentary and state seats there in the upcoming general election (GE14).

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also Home Affairs Minister and oversees the National Registration Department, said the movement of voters has been traced by his ministry.

"The opposition has been focusing on Johor and have plans to take over the state.

“They have identified several Parliamentary and state seats in Johor.

"The opposition had done the same in Negri Sembilan during the 13th general election, but Umno and Barisan Nasional managed to defend the state," Ahmad Zahid said after officiating the Umno Jelebu division delegates’ meeting and Aidilfitri open house at the D'sury multipurpose hall here today.

Also present were Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom, Umno Jelebu chief Datuk Jalaluddin Alias, as well as assemblymen and state party members.

Ahmad Zahid added he believes that Johor will continue to be Umno's “fixed deposit.”
