PBS gears up for polls, activates party machineries at all constituency and more

PENAMPANG: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) has stepped up preparations for the elections at all its constituencies, including the additional new state seats.

Referring to the 13 state seats which the state assembly has passed last year, the party has included the added boundaries in their preparations if they are approved in the coming parliamentary sitting.

PBS acting president Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili said the party’s machineries at the five parliamentary seats covering the 13 proposed new state seats have been activated with intensified level of preparedness.

“Our machineries at all polling centres have begun work and if the new boundaries are passed, we are ready to set up protem committees at our added seats,” he said in a statement released after chairing the PBS Supreme Council meeting at the party’s headquarters here.

PBS has voiced out its intention to Barisan Nasional (BN) to claim at least six constituencies from the 13 new seats proposed by the Election Commission (EC) in its redelineation exercise.

Ongkili opined that PBS as a multiracial party can do well in any constituency it is given by the BN leadership.
