Pakatan Harapan submits final constitution draft to RoS

KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan has submitted the final draft of its constitution to the Registrar of Societies (RoS) for approval.

Its chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad also said representatives from the pact were scheduled to meet with RoS later this evening to discuss the matter.

“We have submitted the final draft of our constitution as requested by the RoS and we will meet them later this evening.

“We hope there will be no problems but if the RoS wants us to make corrections (to the draft), we will comply,” he told reporters this after chairing a Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting at the Parliament building here, today.

Pakatan Harapan is in the midst of registering itself as a formal coalition to contest in the upcoming 14th General Election, speculated to be held by next year.

On another matter, Dr Mahathir revealed that Pakatan Rakyat has chosen Padang Timur in Petaling Jaya as the venue for its “Sayangi Malaysia, Hapuskan Kleptorasi (Love Malaysia, Destroy Kleptocracy)” rally scheduled for Oct 14.

Dr Mahathir, who is also Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) chairman, said PPBM president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin would chair the newly-formed Pakatan Harapan election committee.

He also announced that DAP publicity chief Tony Pua has been appointed as Pakatan Harapan information bureau chairman.

DAP legal bureau chief Gobind Singh Deo, he said, would head the pact’s legal bureau.

“The chiefs of Pakatan Harapan’s Sabah and Sarawak committee, Youth and Wanita will announced later,” he said.
