Kit Siang, not Dr Mahathir, will be made PM if Pakatan Harapan wins next election: Shahrizat

LANGKAWI: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad will not be made the next prime minister if Pakatan Harapan wins the 14th General Election (GE14).

Umno Wanita chief Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said it is DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang who would be appointed as the next prime minister should the Opposition bloc assumes power.

She said the DAP supremo would be made the prime minister as he commands a strong support in Pakatan Harapan.

"The rumours that Dr Mahathir is the prime minister designate for Pakatan Harapan is just an illusion because it is Lim who is craving for the post.

"It is obvious that every single decision made in Pakatan Harapan, it has to be finalised by Lim Kit Siang and DAP," she said in her speech when opening the Langkawi Umno Wanita delegates meeting at Langkawi International Convention Centre here.

Present were Langkawi Umno division chief and member of Parliament Datuk Nawawi Ahmad, his deputy Datuk Mohd Rawi Abdul Hamid, Kedah Wanita chief Datuk Sharifah Maznah Syed Kassim Barakbah and Langkawi Wanita chief Hisham Suhaily Othman.

Shahrizat said it is baffling that other Pakatan Harapan leaders from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia ( PPBM) and Parti Amanah Negara (PAN) never agrees on one candidate for the prime minister post.

"Umno Wanita believes that Lim Kit Siang will have the final say on the prime minister candidate as other parties will be subservient to DAP because it has the biggest number of parliamentary seats in Pakatan Harapan.

"So Malaysians must understand the political ploy played up by Pakatan Harapan to fish for votes in the 14th General Election," she said.
