Pas will remain in power in Kelantan

KOTA BARU: Pas has its own strategy to ensure it remains in power in Kelantan.

State Pas secretary Datuk Che Abdullah Mat Nawi said he believed other parties such as Barisan Nasional (BN) and Parti Amanah Negara (PAN) would have a tough time making inroads in the state, in the 14th general election (GE14).

He dismissed rumours as well as an analysis by a local English daily quoting a state BN leader who is confident that the coalition can take over Kelantan.

"Every one is free to give their opinion on the issue but for us (Pas) will still be ruling Kelantan after GE14, as we already have lined up our strategies to continue reamining in power in the state," he said here today.

On another note, Che Abdullah said Pas was opposed against the Better Beer Festival 2017 which will take place next month.

He said Pas's objection against the event does not mean the party does not respect Malaysia’s multi-ethnicity but was concerned over the sensitivity of Muslims.

"The organiser seemed have no sensitivity on local community whom majority are Muslims. They must know the impact of the event on Muslims," he said.

The event is organised by craft beer distributors MyBeer, and is expected to be held at White Box & The Square in Publika for two days beginning Oct 6.
