Youth Parliament urged to consider voice of overseas students

KUALA LUMPUR: The Umno Overseas Students Bureau (BPLN) wants the Youth Parliament to also take into consideration the voice of Malaysian students abroad.

Its chairman Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican said this would lead to the convergence of ideas on domestic and foreign issues which would benefit Malaysia in the long run.

“If can, I want the representatives of the Umno Overseas Clubs (KULN) and other national societies to return when the Youth Parliament session is on.

“This is because there are issues discussed overseas which might not be discussed in the country by the local youths,” he said at a dinner function with the BPLN chairman, here, tonight.

Reezal Merican, who is also Deputy Foreign Minister, also wants KULN members to fully use the opportunity of attending the Umno General Assembly to voice out their views.

“Don’t be shy to give your views even if critical as your views may be used in future,” he said.

At the function, Reezal Merican also presented the ‘Best KULN’ Award to the India KULN, besides announcing Ahmad Syazwan Shah Shah Headen (London KULN), Muhammad Nabil Halimi (Wales KULN) and Hanis Syazana Suhaimi (Wellington KULN) as the KULN spokesmen at the Umno General Assembly 2017, set for Dec 5 to 9. — BERNAMA
