KUALA LUMPUR: MIC and MyPPP have backed Prime Minister and Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak as Barisan Nasional faces the 14th General Election (GE14) .
MIC president Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam said Najib’s presidential policy speech at the opening of Umno’s annual general assembly in Putra World Trade Centre today was clear to everyone.
"His message is comprehensive with a highlight on nationalist ideology.
"In a gist, he delivered a good speech which is timely and touches on all relevant issues.
“He also focused and explained on government achievements in developing the nation,” said Dr Subramaniam.
Dr Subramaniam said it is clear that the BN is the government which developed the nation, unlike the Opposition which is only good at misleading and deceitful statements.
"The Opposition will not bring any good to the community and this will be something for Umno members and the people to ponder.
MyPPP president Tan Sri M Kayveas said the Prime Minister's message - that the people should not gamble the country’s future - is also a clarion call for BN component parties to work hard in GE14.
He said it is important to ensure that the country would continuously be run by leaders who truly fight for the nation.
Kayveas warned of the disaster that everyone faces should the country fall into the hands of the Opposition.
