ALOR STAR: Umno divisions in Kedah must close ranks and resolve any internal issues before facing the 14th General Election (GE14).
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said all 15 divisions should take heed of the advice given by party president Datuk Seri Najib Razak during the recent Umno General Assembly 2017.
“The president has reminded all division leaders to resolve any issues that may occur in the division before gearing up for GE14.
“He also asked all members to uphold unity, be loyal to the party and work to ensure that the party will continue be given the mandate,” he told reporters after attending the signing ceremony of the Kedah football team’s new head coach Ramon Marcote, here today.
Bashah said he would remind all leaders when they meet for the state Umno liaison committee meeting next month.
He stressed that all Umno divisions in Kedah have no internal issues and if there were any, they must resolve it quickly.
Najib, at the recent Umno assembly, called for all divisions with internal problems to resolve them before the party marches into GE14.
He also urged all members to accept the candidates that the party will line up and avoid any elements of sabotage if their choice of candidate is not picked.
