No more annual allocations for our Selangor lawmakers: Pas' Sallehen

KUALA LUMPUR: The Selangor Pas leadership today confirmed that the state government had frozen the annual allocations meant for the party’s state representatives.

Its state commissioner Sallehen Mukhyi said the state economic planning unit had informed him that Pas assemblymen would not be getting this year's RM800,000 allocation meant for them.

“This was informed to me verbally by the EPU officer. However, we did not receive any official letter yet.

“If this is true, it is an improper act as the current state government is a Pakatan Rakyat government that won the last general election.

“Pas is one of the component in the state government's administration and all assemblymen from Pas deserve the annual allocation as long as Parliament has not been dissolved for the next polls,” he said.

Sallehen said the party was also considering meeting the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah to solve the issue.

“If the state government failed to respond, we will consider meeting the Sultan,” he said.

It was reported earlier this month that the PKR-led state government had frozen allocations for Pas state representatives.

However, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali denied the allegation stating that it was due to a "technical problem".

Pas has won 15 out of 56 state seats during the last general elections, namely Taman Templer, Lembah Jaya, Paya Jaras, Chempaka, Meru, Dusun Tua, Tanjung Sepat, Sabak, Gombak Setia, Bangi, Seri Serdang, Selat Klang, Sijangkang, Morib dan Hulu Kelang.
