Hadi to Azmin: 'Don't mix politics with administration'

SHAH ALAM: Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang has ticked off Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, telling him that he should not mix politics with the administration of Selangor.

The Pas president said the Selangor government must differentiate between political parties and the administration of a state.

“After the elections the party that wins can form their own government. But, it is a bad approach to have political sentiments in administering (a state). After the elections we must assume responsibility for all people, whether or not they supported us.

“This is the proper approach... no discrimination nor bias,” he told reporters after opening the Pas Selangor Fastaqim 2.4 and launching the Pas Selangor 14th general election machinery.

Hadi had been asked to comment on reports that Pas elected representatives in Selangor had not been given their respective allocations.

Recently, Selangor Pas commissioner Sallehan Mukhyi was reported as saying that the state government had instituted a freeze on a total allocation of RM800,000 for the party’s assemblymen.

He had said the assemblymen would take the matter up with Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah as a last resort, should Azmin’s administration fail to address the issue.

Sallehen had claimed that he received information about the freeze from an officer within the Selangor government’s Economic Planning Unit.

Meanwhile, Selangor Islamic Affairs, Malay Customs and Heritage, Rural and Traditional Village Development Committee chairman Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi, who is from Pas, said any action to be taken would take place in February.

He said he and the other Pas assemblymen had yet to receive any information on the matter, nor letters from the state government.

“Usually the allocation will be given in January. We will wait and see what happens at the end of the month (before taking any action).”
