Khairul Azwan ready to contest GE14 anywhere

IPOH: Umno Youth deputy chief Khairul Azwan Harun is prepared to contest either a parliamentary or state seat in the 14th General Elections (GE-14).

However, he said the decision lies with Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

“I would like to state that I am prepared to become a candidate in GE-14, whether it is a state or Parliament seat, I leave it to the party leadership,” he said.

"If given the mandate, I am prepared, but do not ask me where I will contest, it is up to the leadership," he said.

He was speaking to reporters after the handing over of Chinese New Year aid organised by

Perak BN Youth this evening.

He was commenting on rumours that might contest the Bagan Serai parliamentary as well as Kampung Gajah state seat in GE14.

Khairul Azwan who is also the Perak BN Youth chief said Perak BN Youth was in a state of readiness to face the opposition in Perak.

“The high spirit shown by UMNO Youth, MIC, MCA, Gerakan and MyPPP as well as other BN component parties indicates that we are ready,” he said.

"The state BN Youth is ready to face GE-14. We are confident that the work carried throughout the year, will ensure that BN will continue to govern the country," he said.

Khairul Azwan said he was also confident BN would continue to administer Perak.
