Wrest back Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary seat - DPM

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi wants the Barisan Nasional (BN) machinery to wrest back the Bandar Tun Razak Parliamentary constituency after being under the opposition for the past nine years.

The BN deputy chairman said he wants every component party in the parliamentary area to co-operate to enable the coalition to triumph in the area.

“For nine years we are embraced by sufferings, nine years we are baked in the hot sun, nine years are in the rain and nine years we are in the drain of misery.

“This is the time we wrest back the seat and present it to BN,” he said at the launch of the Bandar Tun Razak general election machinery at Laman Tun Razak here tonight.

Also present were BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, UMNO Bandar Tun Razak chief Datuk Rizalman Mokhtar, BN component party leaders and party machinery.

Recalling the history of Bandar Tun Razak establishment, Zahid, said his success of the constituency was driven by the urbanization program created by the BN government to help people from the rural area to earn a livelihood in suburban areas.

He reminded the people not to forget their progress which was made possible by the government over the years.

“Enough of the nine years, (under the opposition) it should be placed in the footnote of history. We want to repay what UMNO and Barisan Nasional and the government did for the Bandar Tun Razak residents, "he said.

Zahid also wants the MCA and Gerakan machinery in the area to win Chinese support to support BN in the 14th General Election. — BERNAMA
