KOTA KINABALU: The ability of people from Sabah in highlighting the voice of the rakyat at federal and international levels has put off sceptics who undermine them, said Datuk Seri Anifah Aman.
Anifah, who served as Foreign Minister since 2009, said in his part, he had voiced out plight of the people since being entrusted to hold the key position in the Federal cabinet.
“I have countless time brought up the voice of Kimanis and Sabah people, overall, not only at the federal level but also internationally.
“We have proven to the cynics that people from Sabah are capable of achieving anything if given the opportunity,” he said in a statement following the dissolution of parliament.
The Kimanis incumbent said this was the result of the trust given by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to him, while extending his appreciation to those who have assisted him throughout the years.
“To loyal supporters, who was with me since day one of my political career, I appreciate your support. By God’s grace, the spirit of ‘We Shall Overcome’ will become our catalyst,” he said and assured Barisan Nasional will continue to fight for the people.
