BN manifesto: MVV to create 1.3 million jobs; boost N Sembilan's economy

SEREMBAN: The development of the massive Malaysian Vision Valley Project (MVV) here is expected to create a range of job opportunities for the rakyat, as outlined in the Barisan Nasional (BN) Manifesto which was launched by the Prime Minister last night.

The manifesto’s presentation saw Datuk Seri Najib Razak expressing his desire to accelerate the development of MVV, which is expected to create 1.3 million jobs if the BN coalition is given the mandate in the 14th general election (GE14).

State BN chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan welcomed the announcement, saying that he believes MVV will not only boost the country's economy but also the state’s.

"The comprehensive and strategic development project, from Nilai to Port Dickson, will be an iconic one, and will (contribute significantly to) the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

"(To be developed in phases), the project… will add 1.3 to 1.5 million job opportunities over the next 25 years," he said when contacted today.

Mohamad added that the pledge made by BN’s leadership to continue the implementation of world-class projects such as the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Railway (HSR) will also have a major positive impact on Negri Sembilan’s development.
